What Is the Instructional Technology
Society? The Instructional Technology Society is a student
organization recognized here on the CSU, Chico campus. The club
was started to meet the needs of the Communication students studying
Instructional Technology. Students from other areas such as Human
Resource Management, Psychology, and Education may also find the
club to be beneficial. Students from all majors are welcome.
The club brings in speakers who are working professionals chosen
from a wide variety of positions such as developers of computer
assisted instruction, developers of training, producers of video,
deliverers of training, and managers of production. This provides
a great chance for our students to network with working professionals
and to ask questions about the positions we seek. For our members
there are also field trips to corporations in Northern California
which allows for our students to get a first hand look at how
our industry functions. The major goal of this club is to
bridge the gap between our students and the working community
and this is accomplished through our speakers and field trips.
We also like to hold social events several times a year where
we are free to relax and enjoy the journey. While the ITS
is a club started here on the campus, our real strength lies in
our ties with the ISPI international organization. Our ITS club
is one of two recognized student chapters of ISPI in the nation
which allows for great exposure at the annual national conferences.
In addition, there are three professional chapters of ISPI in
the Bay Area and their members are very supportive of our involvement.
There is far greater recognition for ISPI than there is for ITS.
ITS is your connection to ISPI.
