#10 -- He is an active citizen fed up with Washington gridlock and Republican extremism.
#9 -- Because he is underfunded, running against a HUGE incumbent's war chest, he understands from personal experience the need for campaign finance reform.
#8 -- Roberts is living proof that it is possible for a candidate to be BOTH fiscally responsible and socially concerned .

#7 -- His experience in the military makes him alert to national security issues. He advocates a strong defense designed to meet the current and projected threats to our security. He also believes we waste far too much money in military procurement, and we can get the same amount of defense muscle for less money.
#6 -- His experience as a teacher (and a teacher of teachers) makes him a strong advocate of Goals 2000 and other education programs that will help our school systems do a better job of educating America's children.
#5 -- His experience working on college campuses makes him acutely aware that fewer and fewer students can afford a college education. Roberts is an advocate of more student loans, better administered. His opponent and the other Republicans want cutbacks in this essential support system.
#4 -- Roberts believes a Congressional Representative ought to offer positive solutions to the real problems that are at the heart of every political issue. Political posturing often adds to the problem and never provides part of the solution.
#3 -- Roberts believes block grants are a gimmick that lets Congress avoid being blamed for imminent reductions in service to American citizens. Most American voters are smart enough to recognize a shell game when they see one.
#2 -- He will support legislation to make it impossible for future Congresses to use the budget to shut down the government. If nobody else introduces that legislation, he will! If the Congress fails to pass and the President fails to sign a budget by October 1st in any future year, Roberts believes that both the members of Congress and the President should lose all salary and all other compensation that they would ordinarily receive from that date until such date that finally pass and sign a budget.
#1 -- The number one reason to elect Roberts Braden is Wally Herger, a Newt loyalist. Legislative decisions that affect the 2nd District of California should not be made in the 6th District of Georgia.
